Accessibility Statement

Draft — pending formal audit. This statement reflects our good-faith accessibility target and known gaps. A formal WCAG 2.1 AA audit is planned before any federal/state procurement milestone.

Our commitment

Marco Map aims for WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We treat accessibility as a product-quality baseline, not a legal checkbox.

What we have today

Keyboard-navigable sidebar, search, and tabs
Touch-target minimums (36 px) on tablet/phone controls
Color-contrast ratios validated on the current sidebar, tab bar, and chart palettes
Focus outlines preserved on all interactive elements
Semantic HTML structure (headings, lists, landmarks) on static pages
prefers-reduced-motion honored on transitions
Screen-reader announcements on data table sort changes

Known gaps

Deck.gl map surfaces do not yet expose hex-level content via the accessibility tree — a screen-reader user cannot currently hear hex values without using the table views.
Color-only encoding remains on a few legacy chart patterns; the active migration to palette + pattern dual-encoding is ongoing.
Some interactive tooltips don't have keyboard-reachable triggers (being tracked in our feedback queue).
PDF exports are not fully tagged for screen readers.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 business days and provide a fix or workaround timeline within 10 business days.

Section 508

Marco Map is in active development and does not yet have a completed VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template). If you are evaluating Marco Map for a federal or state procurement with Section 508 requirements, contact [email protected] to discuss current conformance and remediation timelines.

If a part of Marco Map is not accessible to you, we will provide the same information through an alternative channel (email summary, exported ZIP, or a live screen-share walkthrough) at no cost.
